The Vetted Word Showcase ~ Featuring Sam Sax!!
The Vetted Word Showcase RETURNS!! This month we'll be featuring the amazing poetic talents of Sam Sax!!
Sax is a queer, jewish, cissy-gendered performance poet living in San Francisco who just started running New Poetry Mission and the unofficial writer's workshop at the Berkeley Poetry Slam. He was recently published in the Evergreen Review and Assaracus and is currently working on his first full length poetry manuscript~ hella gay notes from underground.
February also marks our first month with Vetted Word's new mission and programming. We'll start the show with poetic energy from Jen G, Lauren Wheeler and more... directly following Sam Sax's feature we'll be presenting a panel discussion on the following topic ~
Acceptance or Rejection?
Context:
Artist are constantly in the midst of antagonism and affirmation. Whether you have a collected 50 rejection letters for your novel or you got turned down at an audition because you didn't have the right face for the role, you may have found the criterion of acceptance in the industry puzzling, arbitrary, or unbalanced at times.
Our panel is full of interesting folks ready to vet this topic and bring something meaty, important, and unique to the San Francisco Literary Community.
Join us for poetry, stay for vetting.
Word.
