The Vetted Word Showcase ~ Featuring Abe Becker

The Vetted Word Showcase is a community cultivating art and broadening perceptions with a unique voice in San Francisco. We're a group of artist that come from all different genres and ages.... from the slam poetry scene to the working folk-storytellers of the Bay Area, we share a stage and vet life together.

Join us on August 4th as we feature Abe Becker who has been on numerous finals stage slam teams as a poet and coach, three times representing UC Berkeley and twice representing the city of Berkeley nationally. While in college he led a weekly writing group at a homeless shelter nearby campus, and he’s since performed and taught poetry all over the country at schools from the elementary to the collegiate level. He has also assisted with workshops and performed at the Esalen Center in Big Sur, and was an original cast member of the Men’s Story Project.

Storytellers from all over the bay will be performing as well as Vetted Word poets and performance artists such as Baruch Porras-Hernandez, John Staedler, Blythe Baldwin and many others.
