Letter from the Editor

Beloved Vetted Word Community,

Here's something I learned this month. Having big dreams can be both daunting and inspiring. In one month I've learned that through this dual reality I can find balance. I can have both stability and chaos... I can be all 't-shirt and jeans', while at the same time 'stilettos and 80's glam' at night. I've learned that loving myself all the time doesn't mean always loving my choices. I've learned that my choices don't determine me... but rather love determines me.

I know what you're thinking... it was a big month! It was, and now I'm sitting here on the afternoon before a great Vetted Word Showcase, wondering how to express what has gone on inside my head since the last show. All I keep referring back to is the amazing process of building community through art. Better yet, the amazing process of discovering myself through the building, through the community, through art itself.

It's quite a feat to realize that you like who you are. Mind you I might feel differently tomorrow... but right now... today... (pink chiffon skirt and stilettos in hand) I love Olga Rosales. I love The Vetted Word Showcase, and most importantly I love The Vetted Word Community.
